London-Lions (BBL) signed 25-year old Nigerian international guard Olumiye Oni (198cm-95kg-1997, college: Yale). Oni played this summer at Dallas Mavericks in the NBA Summer League. In 5 games just recently he had only 2.4ppg, 2.0rpg and 1.2apg. He ended 21-22 season at the Pelicans in NBA. But the most of that year he spent at the Jazz in NBA. But in 16 NBA Summer League games he recorded only 0.3ppg.
Three years ago he was drafted by Golden State Warriors (NBA) in second round (58 th overall). The former Yale University standout is in his fourth season in pro basketball.
Oni also represented Nigeria at the Olympic Games in Tokyo (Japan) last year. His stats at that event were 3 games: 6.7ppg, 2.0rpg, 1.7apg, FGP: 20.0%, 3PT: 46.2%.
He has played previously professionally in NBA G League (SLC Stars).
The list of the past achievements is quite long as among others he won NBA Northwest Division championship title in 2021. Oni was voted All-Ivy League Player of the Year back in 2019.
